Hull have signed the Harlequins winger Will Sharp on a two-year contract from next season.

Sharp, born in Nigeria but brought up in Bradford, has been one of the few successes of a difficult couple of seasons for the London club.

They have already lost Danny Orr to Castleford for next season and the odds are on Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook also moving elsewhere.

Sharp paid tribute to Quins for giving him his start in the professional game. "But when a club like Hull comes along, with the potential to be a top three team, it's hard to ignore," he added.

As a player who also has experience at centre, Sharp will be a direct replacement for Craig Hall, who was told earlier this week that he is not being offered a new contract for next season.

St Helens are hopeful of having Kyle Eastmond back in their side against Bradford tomorrow, but will probably be without James Graham with a back injury. Paul Clough misses the game with a shoulder problem. The Bulls have Brett Kearney and Nick Scruton back in harness.

The Challenge Cup finalists Leeds leave out Danny Buderus and Ryan Bailey, both of whom picked up knocks, for their trip to Castleford tomorrow. Ali Lauitiiti, Ian Kirke and Scott Donald are back in the squad.

Widnes will hold a minute's silence before their Championship match against Sheffield Eagles tonight, in memory of Christine Cullen, the wife of their coach, Paul, who has died of cancer at the age of 48.
