Amir Khan announced yesterday that he will defend his WBA and IBF light-welterweight titles against the mandatory IBF challenger Lamont Peterson in Washington DC on 10 December. It is expected to be the last time Khan fights at 140lbs before stepping up to welterweight and a potential lucrative fight against Floyd Mayweather next summer. Peterson, 27, has won all but two of his 31 fights.
