Manny Pacquiao has taunted Floyd Mayweather ahead of their hotly-anticipated clash on 2 May by saying UFC women's bantamweight champion "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey would defeat him.

Speaking to ESPN, Pacquiao said: "She's strong. She's strong enough to beat Floyd Mayweather in MMA."

Mayweather and Pacquiao met for the only time before fight week ahead of the richest fight in boxing history in a press conference last night, with the unbeaten Mayweather starting the mind-games with Pacquiao, saying "losses stay in your mind".

Pacquiao, 36, has lost five times in 57 fights. Mayweather, 38, has yet to taste defeat in his 47 bouts.

"When you lose [it stays] in your mind," Mayweather told the Los Angeles crowd at their press conference. "You lose once it stays in your mind, you lose twice it stays in your mind. I always wanted to be a winner."

The combined purse for the bout is expected to top $300m (£201m).
