£8m arrival Ricky van Wolfswinkel backs Norwich manager Chris Hughton

Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel is in no doubt he has joined a club going places after signing for Norwich.

The 24-year-old Netherlands international is set to join up with the Canaries on 1 July from Sporting Lisbon in a four-year deal, the transfer reported to be worth £8m. Van Wolfswinkel said: “The club is in the middle of the table and very ambitious, this summer they will be debt-free and will get on strong.”

He added: “I had a good talk with the manager, Chris Hughton. He was very specific about my qualities and wants to build a strong team around him. That shows good trust.”
