Round-Up: Brawl mars Aberdeen comeback

Two under-pressure Scottish Premier League managers found no respite in the Cup as a tempestuous third round heaped problems on Gordon Chisholm of Dundee United and Dunfermline Athletic's Jim Leishman.

Both teams threw away two-goal leads, with Dunfermlinesuccumbing to First Division Airdrie United by conceding a Steven McKeown penalty and a header to Stevie Docherty in the dying minutes to lose 4-3.

Dundee United looked to be in the next round when a fine double from David Fernandez becalmed Aberdeen. However, Stevie Crawford came up with two goals to haunt his old club and Barry Nicholson's 79th-minute shot sealed the comeback.

Moments after the 3-2 success, the United coach, Billy Dodds, and the Aberdeen manager, Jimmy Calderwood, had to be separated in a trackside fight.

Hearts' Steven Pressley and Jamie McAllister secured a 2-1 win over Kilmarnock, while Rangers had no trouble easing past Peterhead. The Second Division side took 3,000 fans to Ibrox but their dreams were ended by Kris Boyd's second-half hat-trick on his debutafter Sotirios Kyrgiakos had opened the scoring.
