Jose Mourinho made two changes to his Capital One Cup-winning side for a return to Premier League business at West Ham.
Thibaut Courtois returned in goal for Petr Cech and Oscar replaced Willian following Sunday's 2-0 defeat of Tottenham which gave Mourinho a first trophy of his second spell as boss.
Kevin Nolan replaced Alex Song as the Hammers - with one win in 10 league games entering the clash - attempted to claim a second win in 18 attempts against the Blues.
