Premier League: Sunderland v Tottenham match preview

Sunderland remain firmly rooted to the foot of the Premier League and getting a positive result from the visit of Tottenham on Saturday is a difficult but not necessarily impossible task.

Spurs have only netted 6 away goals this season and have suffered from inconsistence on the road. Their last two trips away from White Hart Lane have seen them impressively come from behind in a 2-1 victory over Fulham on Wednesday night and 6-0 humiliation at the hands of Man City two weeks ago.

Tottenham’s sparse form in front of goal will have no better chance of improving than against a Sunderland team who have conceded the most times of any team at home this season. The Black Cats have trips to Cardiff and Everton before the new year and new boss Gus Poyet will hope to turn around there form before it’s too late.
