Newcastle United vs Arsenal LIVE: Premier League latest updates
Follow all the action from St James’ Park as the Gunners look to reel in Chelsea and hold off Burnley, while Newcastle chase an impressive top-half finish
Newcastle United host Arsenal in the 1330 BST kick-off at St James’ Park with both sides on the fringes of their respective Premier League battles.
For the Gunners, the top four is now out of sight and they are content with chasing Chelsea in fifth above them while holding off the charge of Burnley from below.
Newcastle meanwhile are sitting pretty above the relegation scrap, seemingly safe on 38 points, and can now target a top-half finish which would be an impressive achievement from a squad which many experts tipped to struggle this season.

2: Joe Willock update: his first touch is loose and Matt Ritchie steals the ball then wins a foul from the Arsenal youngster. A cross is then whipped into the area and Jamaal Lascelles forces a corner, which comes to nothing.
4: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has started on the left wing, with Alexandre Lacazette playing through the middle. I imagine Aubameyang being cup-tied played a part in that decision, it gives more time for Lacazette to continue his form in a central position.
9: Newcastle are pressing Arsenal really well by picking times to swarm the players in blue. The Gunners have unsurprisingly had the larger share of possession in the opening minutes but are yet to work out how to break down the black and white defence.
9: We have our first glimpse of Kennedy.
Matt Ritchie drives in from the right side and lays the ball back to Kennedy who is around 30 yards from goal. He spins to set the ball on his left foot and fires a low drive towards goal but it's straight at Petr Cech.
12: Floran Lejeune finds Dwight Gayle with a superb long ball from the back. The forward drifts wide and lays the ball to Matt Ritchie who crosses from the right. Ayoze Perez is the target in the middle but is beaten to the ball and Arsenal clear.
Newcastle 0-1 Arsenal
15: Shkodran Mustafi finds Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a superb long pass from the half-way line. The left winger touches the ball down and crosses to Alexandre Lacazette at the back post and he fires the ball in with a composed finish while being marked very tightly.
Newcastle's defence is breached at home for the first time since January.
18: Arsenal have a penalty appeal turned down.
Petr Cech's clearance is met by Alex Iwobi who finds Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang charging in on goal. He touches inside onto his right foot and tries to bend a shot into the corner but Jamaal Lascelles deflects the shot over. Replays show that he used his arm to divert the ball from goal, the referee gave a corner, so presumably saw the contact, but did not give a penalty.
Alexandre Lacazette celebrates Arsenal's 100th goal of the season.
