Manchester United are ready to launch an audacious bid to land Inter Milan centre forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, it has been reported today.

The Mirror claims that Alex Ferguson has singled out the Sweden international as the ideal answer to his attacking shortages following the departures of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.

Ibrahimovic was Serie A's top scorer last season, and the English champions are willing to splash out in excess of £30m to land the 27-year-old according to the report.

Inter have repeatedly stated that Ibrahimovic will remain with the Italian champions but the striker himself has made various comments across the summer, hinting that he could be tempted away from Italy.
