Liverpool vs Leicester team news: Steven Gerrard returns but Martin Skrtel out

Liverpool aiming to close gap to top four

Steven Gerrard starts Liverpool's first game of 2015 having been rested for their previous game, the 4-1 win over Swansea.

The captain takes his place in midfield for the visit of the Premier League's bottom club Leicester City to Anfield.

Lallana, who scored twice in the win on Monday night retains his place whilst Raheem Sterling continues up front.

Brad Jones continues to be sidelined meaning Simon Mignolet remains in goal.

The only other change from the win over Swansea is Kolo Toure coming in for Martin Skrtel who is suspended.

Striker Jamie Vardy goes straight back into the starting line-up having missed Leicester's victory away against Hull in their last outing.
