Jurgen Klopp forgets rules about swearing on American TV after Liverpool's win over Manchester City

Jurgen Klopp was so jubilant after Liverpool ended Manchester City’s unbeaten Premier League run that he forgot that swearing on television in America is not allowed.

The Reds raced into a 4-1 lead after half-time as goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah added to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s first-half strike which was cancelled out by Leroy Sane.

However, there was drama at the end as goals from Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan dragged City within a goal of snatching a point with three minutes of injury time remaining.

Liverpool hung on for the win, much to Klopp’s obvious delight on the touchline and his jubilation was such that he briefly lost his composure and blurted out some expletives.

While speaking to US channel NBC, who pundits included Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux, Klopp said: “You can look at it as a manager and say ‘we could have done this or that better’ or you can look at it as a football fan and say ‘What the f*** was that then? Unbelievable...’”

NBC then apologised for the swearing before Klopp added: “I thought in America it's OK and in England it's not.”
