Coyle to keep Cahill for rest of the season

Owen Coyle accepts Gary Cahill may outgrow Bolton but has no intention of selling the defender in this transfer window. The England centre-half has been linked with a £10m move to Arsenal but his manager says there has been no contact with the London club.

Coyle, who has had only four substitutes on his bench for the past two Premier League games, insists his squad cannot afford to lose any players this month. He admits, however, that the 25-year-old could leave in the summer. Coyle said: "He [Cahill] is a top performer, capable of playing for any of the top clubs [and I] recognise there will come a time when that type of player will sometimes outgrow your football club."
