Olivier Giroud returns to Arsenal’s starting line-up as Arsene Wenger makes two changes to the side which succumbed to a limp defeat at Manchester United.

Danny Welbeck, who scored at Old Trafford, drops to the bench. Theo Walcott is also among the substitutes and is replaced by Joel Campbell.

The Gunners will be hoping to recover from Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to an inexperienced United side and close the gap on league leaders Leicester City, who dropped points against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night.

Swansea City make six changes to the line-up which narrowly lost 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, the most striking being Bafetembi Gomis’ replacement of Sunday’s goalscorer Alberto Paloschi.

Young full back Stephen Kingsley comes in for Neil Taylor and Leroy Fer is selected in midfield. Gylfi Sigurdsson is among the substitutes.

Line-ups

Arsenal: Cech; Bellerin, Mertesacker, Gabriel, Monreal; Ramsey, Coquelin; Campbell, Ozil, Sanchez; Giroud

Substitutes: Ospina, Chambers, Gibbs, Elneny, Flamini, Walcott, Welbeck

Swansea City: Fabianski, Naughton, Amat, Williams, Kingsley, Cork, Fer, Ki Sung-Yueng, Routledge, Ayew, Gomis

Substitutes: Nordfeldt, Rangel, Fernandez, Fulton, Barrow, Sigurdsson, Paloschi
