It has emerged that Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has asked to leave Old Trafford for the second time in three years. The Premier League champions though insist he is not for sale.

The 27-year-old signed for the Red Devils after handing in a transfer request at Everton prior to a £27 million in August 2004. The England international has made over 400 appearances since his move and has won five league titles, a Champions League and two League Cups.
