Republic of Ireland vs USA: International friendly match preview
A look ahead to this tonight's friendly at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin
The US will look to secure a win tonight against the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
After a successful World Cup campaign, where the USA progressed into the second round losing to Belgium in extra time, Jurgen Klinsmann's team have not been able to hold onto the good shape they were in.
Losing 2-1 to Columbia last Friday and drawing with Ecuador and Honduras the Americans will be keen to beat the Irish.
Irish chances on qualifying for Euro 2016 abruptly shrunk last Friday when they got beaten 1-0 by Scotland.
Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane must motivate their players for the friendly with plenty still to play for in Group D; the Irish are still level on points with Scotland and Germany.
Tonight’s match will be the final match of the year for both teams. Ireland will continue to bid for a ticket to France in 2016 and the USA will be hosting the Gold Cup.
