The Wigan manager, Roberto Martinez, has instructed his players to forget about their struggle to stay in the Premier League until Sunday evening and enjoy the privilege of playing in the FA Cup final.

Martinez told his staff to change all the photographs at the club's training ground to ones of their successful run to Wembley in an attempt to shift the focus away from their dire straits in the league in the build-up to Saturday's cup final.

"They changed it overnight – there is no sign of any Premier League," said Paul Scharner.
