Chelsea captain John Terry will be free to play in the club's opening Champions League match this season after his three-match European ban was reduced by Uefa on appeal yesterday.
The European governing body decided to defer the final match of his suspension for a probationary period of three years. Following his red card against Barcelona in last season's semi-final, Terry missed the Champions League final and will also sit out the Super Cup match against Atletico Madrid on 31 August.
