Partizan Belgrade have appointed former Chelsea, Portsmouth and West Ham United manager Avram Grant as their new coach.

The Serb club said in a statement: "The managing board is convinced that with Avram Grant in charge, the club will achieve what its army of fans expects him to do." Partizan said that Aleksandar Stanojevic, who led them to the league title last year, was fired after a clash with club executives.
