Bayern Munich v Arsenal: Arjen Robben claims tie is not over and calls for 'one game at our top level' to reach Champions League last-eight

Arjen Robben has stressed that Bayern Munich cannot take Arsenal lightly ahead of their Champions League last-16 second leg despite holding a 2-0 advantage going into Tuesday’s encounter.

Robben was a constant thorn in the side of the Gunners during Bayern’s victory three weeks ago, winning a penalty which left-back David Alaba failed to convert while probing Arsenal’s defence for the full 90 minutes.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger though says that Bayern still need to produce “one game at our top level” in order to reach the quarter-finals, with the memory of Arsenal’s victory at the Allianz Arena still fresh in their memory.

“It’s going to be a very tough one,” said Robben speaking after their 6-1 demolition of Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday. “We got a very good result in London, 2-0, but it isn’t over yet and I think everybody realises as well that we have to play one game at our top level then hopefully we reach the quarter-finals.”

Former Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne provided the assist for Naldo to put the home side ahead, before the slaughter began with Bayern’s six unanswered goals.

Arsenal fans will be hoping they don’t suffer a similar fate when they travel to Germany, coming off a strong result of their own thanks to the 4-1 win over Everton to progress to the FA Cup semi-finals, where they will meet Wigan.
