Dramatic win seals series for Australia
Australia 260-6 England 256 Australia win by four runs
England went into the final over at Taunton needing six to complete a thrilling run chase but had just one wicket remaining and Australia clinched victory when the captain, Clare Connor, was caught by Kirsten Pike. That saw Australia take the series 3-2 and end a run of three straight defeats against England, who won the Test series 1-0 and who had bravely battled back from 2-0 down in the one-day series.
The openers, Charlotte Edwards and Laura Newton, both made half-centuries and Arran Brindle also made 50 but four wickets from Cathryn Fitzpatrick kept Australia in the game before Pike's catch sealed their triumph.
Edwards had earlier taken 3 for 47 for the home side while Lisa Keightley, Karen Rolton and Lisa Sthalekar all hit fifties as the tourists made 260 for 6.
