A heavy downpour in Colombo forced the first one-day international between New Zealand and Sri Lanka to be abandoned yesterday, the umpires declaring a 'no-decision' following a final inspection 50 minutes before the scheduled close of the day-night match. Having restricted New Zealand to 166 for 9, Sri Lanka were 41 for 2 in the 11th over when play was halted.
