Ravi Shastri underwent an arthoscopic surgery for a ligament tear in the left knee in Cape Town yesterday and will miss India's early games against England.

The 30-minute operation was performed by the noted South African surgeon Dr Dave Pollock in the presence of the Indian team physiotherapist, Ali Irani.
