Cricket: Gallian moves to Trent Bridge
Jason Gallian yesterday signed up for Nottinghamshire's rebuilding programme by agreeing to leave Lancashire and join the Trent Bridge playing staff on a three-year contract.
The 26-year-old batsman became the second new recruit in eight days, following the signing of the Zimbabwean leg-spinner Paul Strang as their overseas player - and the Trent Bridge county are hopeful of persuading Derbyshire's Chris Adams to join them as well after promising negotiations earlier this week.
Nottinghamshire's cricket manager, Alan Ormrod, said: "This is an exciting time for this club. Jason is not only a quality batsman, he is a fine all-round performer with a good cricket brain who will be a tremendous asset."
