LEGAZPI (Reuter) - The Mayon volcano erupted yesterday, sending lava streaming down its slopes while smoke billowed in the sky. Hundreds of Filipinos streamed into the streets of Legazpi, eight miles from the summit, to watch the columns of billowing smoke.
