Owners of factories near the Taj Mahal threatened to destroy the monument if a decision by India's Supreme Court to close them down were implemented, Reuter reports from Agra.
The Supreme Court ruled that the factories must close to protect the 17th-century marble mausoleum, already damaged by decades of pollution, from further toxic emissions.
