A former officer of the German U-boat pulled from the seabed off the Danish coast said the submarine carried no hoard of gold or paintings when it was sunk at the end of the Second World War, Reuter reports from Ottawa. William Brinkman was second in command of U-534, though not on board for its final voyage.
