ROME (Reuter) - Liliana Ferraro, a 48-year-old lawyer, has been appointed to succeed the anti-Mafia fighter Giovanni Falcone, state television reported yesterday.
She will be director-general of the Justice Ministry's Penal Affairs division, the post Falcone held when he was killed by a Mafia bomb three months ago in Sicily. She had been head of his secretariat for the past 18 months and had been standing in since his death.
