Gulf 'stability'

The acceptance in May by the UN Security Council of the demarcation of the border between Iraq and Kuwait 'produced for the first time the dynamic for stability, prosperity and tranquillity in the region', Kuwait's Deputy Foreign Minister, Abdullah Bishara, said yesterday, Charles Richards writes.

He rejected the proposition that the demarcation, by adjusting the border, would create problems for the future. Iraq would have to 'abandon what they stole, what they were not entitled to get'.
