Skiiers at the Kreischberg resort in Styria, Austria, had to be airlifted to safety after a malfunctioning lift left them stranded.

Amazing footage of the rescue shows a helpless passenger being hoisted from the lift following a "technical defect".

Police say up to 150 people were rescued in total on Monday.
