ROME - Italy said it would appoint a special commissioner with pounds 41m in emergency funds to confront a cholera scare after a fifth case of the disease was reported yesterday.
The commissioner would oversee operations to clean up drains and sewers, ensure clean water supplies and dispose safely of urban waste in the south-eastern region of Puglia. Reuter
