Bhutto has baby girl

LONDON (AFP) - Pakistan's opposition leader, Benazir Bhutto, 39, gave birth to a girl in an emergency Caesarian operation yesterday, her doctor said.

Naseer Shaikh said the mother and daughter were doing fine. The baby does not yet have a name. Ms Bhutto, a former prime minister, was to have delivered her third child on 24 February but it was decided to carry out a Caesarian because of problems linked to gall stones and her pancreas.

Ms Bhutto arrived in London at the weekend for treatment. Her mother, Nusrat Bhutto, was present at the birth. Ms Bhutto already has a son and a daughter.
