Passengers were evacuated from a Cathay Pacific Boeing 747 preparing to fly from Shanghai to Hong Kong yesterday when smoke was seen in the cabin as it taxied for take-off at Pudong International Airport.

Nine of the 351 passengers were slightly injured in the evacuation. The incident is still being investigated.
