Katherine's killers appeal against death sentences

Ap

Two Thai fishermen convicted of raping and murdering British tourist Katherine Horton are appealing against their death sentences, their lawyer said today.

Bualoi Posit, 23, and Wichai Somkhaoyai, 24, were found guilty on January 18 of murdering 21-year-old Miss Horton, from Cardiff, whose body was found off the coast of the popular island of Koh Samui.

Their lawyer, Phrompachara Namuang, said they were appealing on the grounds that the death penalty was "too harsh".
