Stormy Daniels claims she was threatened to 'leave Trump alone' over alleged affair

Adult film star Stormy Daniels has spoken out about her affair with Donald Trump, revealing intimate details about her relationship with the US President and alleging that she was threatened after she agreed to sell her story about their tryst.

The 39-year-old, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, opened up to CBS News 60 Minutes host Anderson Cooper, who nonetheless claimed that many, many tawdry details” has been left out of the show.

Here are the key things we learned from the interview:

Daniels says she was threatened after agreeing to sell her story

In 2011 Daniels agreed a $15,000 deal with a US magazine which planned to publish a tell-all story about the alleged affair.

But former staff members on the publication told CBS that the article never ran after Mr Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen threatened to sue. As a result, Ms Daniels was not paid for the story.

A few weeks later, Ms Daniels said she was threatened by a man who approached her in Las Vegas.

She said she was going to a fitness class with her infant daughter when "a guy walked up on me and said to me, ‘Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.’"

She added that the man "leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, ‘That’s a beautiful little girl. It’d be a shame if something happened to her mom.’ And then he was gone.”

Daniels spanked Trump with a magazine with his face on it

After they first met at his hotel suite in Lake Tahoe in July 2006, Ms Daniels said "in a joking manner", she spanked Mr Trump with a rolled-up copy of Forbes magazine that had his picture on the cover.

“It started off all about him just talking about himself,” Ms Daniels said. “And he’s like, ‘Have you seen my new magazine?’ And so I was like, ‘Does this normally work for you?’ And he looked very taken aback, like, he didn’t really understand what I was saying. Like, I was, ‘Does, just, you know, talking about yourself normally work? Someone should take that magazine and spank you with it.’

“I don’t think anyone’s ever spoken to him like that, especially, you know, a young woman who looked like me. And I said, you know, ‘Give me that,’ and I just remember him going, ‘You wouldn’t.’

“I was like, ‘turn around, drop ‘em.’ So he turned around and pulled his pants down a little… [he] had underwear on and stuff and I just gave him a couple swats.

“And from that moment on, he was a completely different person. He quit talking about himself and he asked me things and I asked him things and it just became like more appropriate.”

Trump compared Daniels to his daughter Ivanka

Last week another former Playboy model, Karen McDougal, told Anderson Cooper in a CNN interview, that Mr Trump had praised her as “beautiful like” his daughter and Ivanka and Ms Daniels said the President had made a similar comparison with her.

She said: “He was like, ‘Wow... you are special. You remind me of my daughter.’ You know, he was like, ‘You’re smart and beautiful, and a woman to be reckoned with, and I like you. I like you.’”

Mr Trump has made no secret of his admiration of Ivanka’s looks in the past, and has a record of comments about his daughter that many people have found unsettling.

“I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her,” he said on American talk show The View in 2006.

Daniels says she did not want to have sex with Trump – but it was consensual

In an uncomfortable section of the interview, Ms Daniels told Mr Cooper she was not attracted to Mr Trump but “realised exactly what I’d gotten myself into” after having dinner with him in a hotel room.

After using the bathroom, she emerged to find Mr Trump “perched” on the edge of the bed.

“I was like, ‘Ugh, here we go.’ And I just felt like maybe… I had it coming for making a bad decision for going to someone’s room alone and I just heard the voice in my head, ‘well, you put yourself in a bad situation and bad things happen, so you deserve this.’

Asked by Mr Cooper if she had wanted to have sex with Mr Trump, she replied: “No.”

But she added she “didn’t say no” to the President and was “not a victim”, while stressing the sex was “entirely consensual”.

They had unprotected sex

Like Ms McDougal, who said she never used condoms with Mr Trump during a 10-month affair, Ms Daniels claimed Mr Trump did not use contraception with her and they did not even discuss the issue.

You work in an industry where condom use is an issue," Cooper said. Did he use a condom?”

Ms Daniels replied: “No.” Asked if she had asked him to, she added: “No. I honestly didn’t say anything.”

Trump offered to make Daniels a contest on Celebrity Apprentice

During their first meeting, Mr Trump asked Ms Daniels if she would like to appear on his reality show.

A year later he asked her to visit him at his bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel to discuss her possible appearance on the programme.

She saw it as a “business meeting” but when she arrived “he was watching Shark Week”.

“He made me sit and watch an entire documentary about shark attacks,” Ms Daniels said.

She added Mr Trump wanted to have sex again.

“He came and sat next to me and, you know, touched my hair, and put his hand on my leg, and... referenced back to how great it was the last time,” she said.

“I’d been there for, like, four hours. And so I then was like, ‘Well, before, you know, can we talk about what’s the development?’ And he was like, ‘I’m almost there. I’ll have an answer for you next week.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, cool. Well I guess call me next week. And I just took my purse and left.’

They did not meet again and Ms Daniels never appeared on Celebrity Apprentice. She told Mr Cooper she felt the offer had been intended to keep her “interested”.

Trump’s lawyer used Trump Organisation email address to set up non-disclosure agreement

The President’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen said he used his personal funds to pay Ms Daniels $130,000 to not to speak publicly about the alleged affair, with Mr Trump denies.

Mr Cohen has said neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms Daniels and he was not reimbursed for the payment.

However, Ms Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti told 60 Minutes he has documents showing Mr Cohen using his Trump Organization email address in setting up the payment and that the non-disclosure agreement was sent by FedEx to Mr Cohen at his Trump Organization office in Trump Tower.

He told Mr Cooper: “This idea that there’s a separation now between Mr. Cohen, individually, and the Trump Organization or Mr Cohen, individually, and Donald Trump, it’s nonsense.”
