Trump calls Clinton 'such a nasty woman'

As Hillary Clinton spoke during the final presidential debate, her opponent interrupted multiple times. But Donald Trump stooped to new lows when he called the former Secretary of State a “nasty woman”.

Mr Trump has struggled to earn the favour of female voters – some 53 per cent of the electorate. Despite his insistence that “nobody has more respect for women than Donald Trump”, his braggadocios remarks about sexual assault, accompanied by at least a dozen accusers, continue to harm his appeal among women in the US.

And this new insult will likely cost him more of the woman vote.

While Ms Clinton talked about raising taxes on the wealthy as part of entitlement initiatives to help less fortunate Americans, she took a swipe at Mr Trump for his apparent history of dodging the IRS.

“That’s part of my commitment to raise taxes on the wealthy,” she said. “My social security payroll contribution will go up, as will Donald’s – assuming he can’t figure out how to get out of it – but what we want to do is replenish the—”

“Such a nasty woman,” Mr Trump said, after a moment of pause as he appeared to think about what to say.

Ms Clinton did not respond to the interruption and continued with her answer.

In the second debate, Mr Trump referred to Ms Clinton as "the Devil" with "tremendous hate in her heart", making his attacks against his opponent personal rather than about her qualifications.

But he also asserted that he would imprison the Democratic nominee should he be elected president in one of his numerous interruptions.

"It’s just awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law of our country," Ms Clinton said.

Mr Trump quipped: "Because you'd be in jail."
