Awkward moment senators hurry past reporter asking them if Biden won the election

A string of Republican senators hurried by a reporter as they were asked on camera if Joe Biden had beaten Donald Trump.

Some of the senators quizzed by an MSNBC reporter did not answer and others walked away quickly when put on the spot.

Senator Richard Shelby, of Alabama, insisted that no-one knew the election result before exiting the interview.

When asked Senator Marsha Blackburn, of Tennessee, said she had not yet spoken to Mr Biden but when asked about the validity of the election had no answer.

Then Senator Joni Ernst, of Iowa, said there was no election fraud in her state, where she won re-election for another six years.

“I don’t believe so. Iowa has a really great election system and I trust the integrity of our process,” said Ms Ernst.

But when she was asked if there was fraud elsewhere she said she could not answer that question.

Finally Senator Rick Scott, of Florida, claimed that all votes needed to be counted before he could say if Mr Biden had won.

“I look forward to that being finished,” said Mr Scott.
