Mickey Rooney granted restraining order against 'abusive' stepson

Mickey Rooney, the 90-year-old veteran US actor, has been granted a temporary restraining order against his stepson.

The order follows reports that his stepson, Chris Alber, 54, is withholding food and medicine and interfering with his finances.

Court documents claim that Mr Alber, who is the son of Rooney's eighth wife, Jan Chamberlin, "is verbally abusive". "He yells and screams at Mickey," it says. "Mickey is effectively a prisoner in his own home."
