Jon Stewart will be retiring from The Daily Show later this year, as the comedian announced on Tuesday during the recording of his show.

After 17 years in the host’s seat at the Comedy Central show, Mr Stewart has become the top satirical news voice in the US, spawning the shows Colbert Report and Last Week Tonight, featuring Stephen Colbert and John Oliver, respectively.
