Cover depicting Boston bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, doubles Rolling Stone magazine’s monthly sales
The controversial August issue of Rolling Stone, with a cover shot of one of the alleged Boston bombers, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, has sold more than double the magazine’s monthly average.
The issue, boycotted by some retail chains, has sold 13,232 copies from news stands since going on sale on 19 July.
Tsarnaev’s cover is titled “The Bomber: How a popular, promising student was failed by his family, fell into radical Islam and became a monster”. The magazine was accused of glorifying him.
