Argentina: Newborn baby found alive after being dumped in trash bag

CCTV footage released on Sunday shows the moment a crowd of people found a newborn baby abandoned in a bin bag at the Lisandro de la Torre service station in the Mataderos district of Buenos Aires.

The baby was found inside a bin bag after it was brought outside a toilet cubicle by a cleaner.

The crowd waiting outside the public bathroom was alerted to the baby after they realised the bin bag was moving. A woman wearing a blue jumper who finds the baby is visibly shocked and quickly tries to get assistance.

The newborn baby still had its umbilical cord attached when found and was reportedly suffering from hypothermia.

Authorities believe the footage also shows a couple suspected of abandoning the baby.
