Former president Hosni Mubarak and his interior minister will go on trial together, accused of ordering the killings of protesters in this year's uprising, a court has ruled.

The trial for Mr Mubarak, his former security chief, Habib el-Adly, and six aides will start on 3 August, the court ruled yesterday during a chaotic hearing where lawyers and victims' relatives pushed and shouted. At one point, the judge threatened to throw everyone out of the court. AP
