Woman trapped beneath rubble

A four-storey tenement block in east Glasgow collapsed yesterday, trapping a woman beneath rubble for three hours. Anne Zennaiter, 55, an American tourist who was visiting her aunt, was later said to be in a comfortable condition in hospital.

Builders had been working near by shortly before the collapse, and there was speculation that old mineworkings may have been disturbed.
