Uppark appeal fails

Haden Young Ltd, the building contractors whose employees set off a blaze that gutted Uppark House, the National Trust's 17th-century mansion, failed in its attempt at the Court of Appeal to avoid liability for restoration costs, expected to be pounds 25m.
