THE OPENING up of the secret services was taken a step further yesterday with the announcement that Sir Colin McColl, head of MI6, is to stay on for two years after his 60th birthday in September to oversee new legislation. The head of MI6 is traditionally credited with being the model for 'M' in the James Bond novels.
