THE RUC in Belfast confirmed that it was seeking the extradition from the US of an IRA fugitive, following his arrest in San Francisco last Thursday.
Paul Brennan was one of 38 IRA men who escaped from the Maze prison near Belfast in 1983. His arrest means three republicans are now in custody in California awaiting extradition. Brennan, from Belfast, was serving a 16-year sentence for explosives offences.
