Judges reject murder appeal

A man serving life for murdering a man with a baseball bat lost his appeal against conviction - despite admissions by his best friend that he struck the fatal blow.

Court of Appeal judges branded as 'unconvincing' evidence from Dave Smith that he rather than Sam Hill had caused the death of Malcolm Barker in a gang fight at Bordon, Hampshire, in 1988.
