A 34-year-old woman has died after crashing a tractor on a rural road.

The woman, from Barnstaple, overturned the "vintage" agricultural vehicle on an unclassified road at Buckland Hill, near Braunton in north Devon yesterday afternoon, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Her female passenger suffered a suspected broken arm and was taken to the North Devon District Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for seven hours while an investigation of the scene took place.
