UK weather: Scattered rain, sunny spells and cooler temperatures
Western parts of the UK will enjoy sunny spells

There’s a definite chill in the air on Thursday morning, with frost in some parts of Scotland and northern England and scattered showers throughout the day.
The morning will start with moderate showers in the southeast, as well as occasional showers across the east of England and southeast of England. Bursts of rain will develop further inland, but they’ll be a “scattered affair”, according to Met Office meteorologist Clare Nasir.
The west of the country will get the best of the sunshine, with Northern Ireland, west Wales, the West Country and central and western Scotland set for sunny patches until earlier afternoon.
As the day goes on, more cloud cover is expected to come in from the north and the east of Scotland.
Temperatures for Thursday are forecasted to be below average, around 10C to 13C, with a possible peak of 14C in the southeast.
As we get into Friday, fog is expected to be widespread across the west and the north of the UK.
The east is likely to experience some rainfall, but once again, brighter skies are expected further west. Temperatures are expected to hover around the low teens.
Into the weekend, most of the country will stay dry on Saturday, with the occasional spot of rain in some areas, and cloudy skies for the most part. Sunday is expected to get a bit brighter, ending the week on a sunnier note.
