Two people rescued after 25-foot yacht gets stranded on rock off Anglesey coast

Footage has been released showing two people being rescued after their 25-foot yacht was stranded on rocks off the coast of Anglesey.

Volunteers from the RNLI" data-wsc-lang="en_GB">Holyhead Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) were called on Sunday afternoon, making their way out to the pair just before 2pm.

A low tide meant the vessel couldn’t be moved immediately, and it had to be temporarily abandoned, but the people on board were brought to safety.

Both appeared to be unharmed.

Video recorded by the RNLI shows the moment they were discovered, with the yacht’s keel wedged up onto a small island, one of the team shouting to ask if they are okay.

The lifeboat team can then be seen returning to the boat that evening, five hours later, once the tide had risen again.

After it eventually became dislodged, the team then tugged it back into the harbour.
