Liverpool fan knocks himself unconscious with celebratory backflip after Champions League win
‘You have dad dancers, but Kev is a granddad dancer’
A Liverpool fan has been filmed knocking himself unconscious with a celebratory backflip.
Kevin Coyle, 35, encouraged people to gather round to watch as he attempted the somersault on a pub dancefloor.
However, video shows him kicking himself in the face half way through the trick before collapsing on the floor as drinkers watch on.
Two of his friends can be seen rushing over to put him in the recovery position, as one clutches hold of his drink.
Paramedics fortunately happened to be parked outside the After Office Hours bar in Colchester, Essex, and were able to quickly check him over.
Mr Coyle, from Kent, escaped unscathed and was soon back out on the dancefloor with his friends to celebrate his team beating Tottenham in the Champions League final on Saturday.
He was filmed by Hayley Curtis, 28, who was meeting Kevin - her brother-in-law’s best friend - for the first time.
She said: “He got overexcited and said that everyone should stand in a circle.
“Then he did the somersault, and banged his head.
“We got him outside where a team of paramedics checked him over but he was fine and he got back on the dance floor clutching a bottle of water after about an hour where he calmed himself down.
“He was just so happy that his football team beat Tottenham earlier in the day.”
Ms Curtis added that the Liverpool fan was “not a dancer at all”.
She said: “You have dad dancers, but Kev is a granddad dancer.”
